Statistics (Animal Science)

I'm an Animal Scientist, why do I need statistics?

Statistical methods are very useful for analyzing data, especially large pools of data. For instance, suppose you were given a table of data on the number of piglets per litter from over 300 litters. Without the use of statistical methods you will be unable to make assumptions of the most/least frequent outcome or any trends. You also won't be able to make any predictions on future outcomes which would be useful for the pig farmers.
