Disability

If you have a disability, long-term medical condition, mental health condition or sensory impairment you can get practical support from the Disability team.

Students and staff

How can they help?

The Disability team provide practical support and arrangements for students with disabilities. They can:

  • advise on accommodation issues and campus accessibility
  • identify your support requirements such as early lectures notes or longer library loans
  • provide guidance to you and your School about the impact of your disability on various study tasks, and how to accommodate these requirements.
  • coordinate any specific exam arrangements including extra time or rest breaks
  • assist with the application process for Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA)
  • facilitate arrangements for additional support, such as British Sign Language interpreters

Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA) is a non-means tested grant available to U.K. disabled students who are applying for, or are attending, a course of Higher Education. For more information on DSA see the Disability Support team website.
