Student Wellbeing Services

Student Wellbeing can provide you with information, advice and guidance on a wide range of student support issues.

Student Wellbeing Services are available to all undergraduate and postgraduate students. During your time at Newcastle you may need to contact one of their teams.

The Mental Health and Counselling Team support students' emotional needs and general wellbeing. If you're experiencing stress, anxiety or other mental health difficulties, they can offer therapeutic support.

The Specialist Learning Team provide specialist one-to-one support for students with dyslexia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia and other Specific Learning Difficulties and students with AD(H)D or Autism Spectrum Disorders.

The Disability Team provide practical arrangements and support for students with a disability, long-term medical condition, mental health condition or sensory impairment for all areas of their university life, from accommodation and one-to-one support workers to exam adjustments.

The Financial Support Team provide information and advice to students on funding, budgeting and all general student finance. Find out more on the Student Wellbeing website.

Student Wellbeing Services are part of the Student Services based in King's Gate.

Drop-in

Students in Kings GateYou can access all student services from the help-desk on Level Two of King's Gate.

The help-desk team are your point of contact for:

  • Academic Support and Information
  • Accommodation
  • Fees, Funding and Finance
  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Exchange and Study Abroad Programme
  • Visa Support

The help-desk is a drop-in service. When you arrive take a ticket and you will be seen by one of the team.

They will be able to answer many of your questions directly, arrange an appointment with the Student Wellbeing Services, or signpost you to other services if needed.
